Memories lost in the clutter

Every so often we need to clean out the clutter in our lives.

Recently Cathy and I redid our bedroom. Part of this process was to take everything out of my dresser and put it into a box to 'go through' later. So, today I started doing just that.

Then I got distracted, which I'm sure is typical whenever you need to 'go through' a box and old memories turn up.

This one is special enough that I need to share it here. One reason is that I really cherish it and two, the paper is starting to shred and if I don't replicate it somewhere else, the paper will be lost and the memory will fade.

So here is what I found:

Aaron's Poem
Miami, 3/7/85

One cloud passed
Before the moon
I smiled, but sad;
Must it end so soon?
We watched the stars
That drifted past
And caught their light
And held it fast.

One cloud passed
Before the moon
I smiled, but sad;
Must it end so soon?
The cloud moved on
And the moon shone bright
It cast on us
Its eternal light

One cloud passed
Before the moon
I smiled, not sad
For it won't end soon.
The moon will follow us
I know
And we'll hold it near
Never letting go.

Wasn't that nice. Cathy wrote that for me about 69 days after we started dating on 12/29/84. I've often said that I knew when I started dating Cathy that we would get married, but that it took some time for her to get used to the idea. Maybe it didn't take as long I a thought it did?

I love you, Cathy.

Is there a more romantic Big Man in the world?
I love you, too.
Thanks for saving my crummy poem. It's not very good but my heart was in it.
And it still is. :)
